How to Use an AEROBIKA* OPEP Device with Arx* Connected Technology
Follow the steps outlined below or download our full instructions.
Before use, ensure these instructions, and those for the Aerobika* OPEP device, have been read and are kept available at all times. If you have questions about the performance or use of this product, please contact your healthcare professional prior to use.
Getting Started
1. Remove all the pieces from the package.
2. Remove the mouthpiece from the Aerobika* device.
3. Attach the mouthpiece to the Adaptor. It will only fit on one end.
4. Attach the Aerobika* device to the other end of the Adaptor.
Activate the Module
1. To turn on for the first time, press and hold the button on the top of the Module until the light ring lights up. This will take approximately 3 seconds.
2. Let go of button once lights appear.
- If the device doesn’t light up after 10 seconds, the battery may be dead
- You will need to charge your device before you can record your first airway clearance therapy session.
3. The device is now “awake” and is ready to use when the front of the ring pulses a soft blue light.
- If the device displays an amber pulse at the front of the light ring, the device’s battery needs to be charged.
- You can still perform an airway clearance therapy session, and the device will track your performance. However, to conserve the battery, it will not provide visual feedback.
4. The device will go to sleep after idling for 30 seconds and the blue light will turn off. When the device is picked up or moved, the blue light will pulse to indicate it is “awake” again.
5. Your Arx* device is now ready to use. It will record several days of therapy data but will need to be paired with your phone to download data. To pair with your phone, please see the next section.

Using the Aerobika* Arx* Device
1. The assembled device can be used in any orientation. It is recommended that treatments be done in a comfortably seated position
2. Pick up the Aerobika* Arx* device. The device will automatically calibrate each time it “wakes up” so wait for the blue pulse before beginning your treatment.
- If the blue pulse does not appear, your device may be in Travel Mode, or the battery may require charging.
- If you start to exhale into the device before the light pulse reappears, your device has not had time to calibrate and will not record your airway clearance therapy session. Place the device back on a flat surface and wait for the light pulse to reappear, this should only take 1-2 seconds.
3. Follow the steps included in the Aerobika* device instructions for use for additional guidance on completing an airway clearance treatment.
4. The goal of each breath is to see green on the light ring. This indicates you are exhaling through the device within the desired range.
- If you are exhaling too softly, a solid blue light will appear in the front of the light ring. To correct your technique, exhale more forcefully with a firm steady breath until the light ring turns green.
- If you are exhaling too hard, the light ring will flash red. To correct your technique, exhale softer until the light ring turns green.
5. When you see the green lights move in a circular pattern you have reached your treatment time or breath-count goal. The pattern will repeat after each additional exhalation.
