AEROCHAMBER* mini Anti-Static Holding Chamber

For use with an MDI for mechanically ventilated patients
Asthma Management
Bronchiectasis
COPD
Cystic Fibrosis
Inhaler

The AEROCHAMBER* mini Anti-Static Holding Chamber can be used in a ventilator circuit or with a resuscitation bag. Compact, the chamber minimizes dead space. This chamber is removed from the circuit following treatment.

  • Small volume chamber suitable for application in neonates and other patients with lower tidal volumes
  • Anti-static improves the reliability of medication delivery1
  • Ready to use directly out of the package – time saving with no pretreatment needed

Why is an inhaler always together with an AEROCHAMBER* mini spacer?

Use of a spacer simplifies coordination of MDI actuation and inhalation, reducing aerosol losses with poor hand-breath coordination.2

Features

  • AERODOCK* Canister Port and a removable canister adaptor allows for use with all types of metered dose inhalers, including those with integrated dose counters
  • 15mm connector fits standard endotracheal tubes
  • Separate exhalation channel minimizes dead space for low tidal volume patients
  • Single-patient use, multiple use (replace with the circuit)

Step 1

Disconnect the wye from the endotracheal tube. Connect the 15 mm endotracheal tube connector (A) to the endotracheal tube. Connect the wye connector (B) to the wye. The arrow on the chamber must point towards the patient and the canister port (C) must be on top.

Step 2

If using a GlaxoSmithKline† type MDI canister with integrated dose counter, remove the canister adapter (D) from the unit. For all other canisters leave the canister adapter (D) in the port.

Step 3

Shake the MDI canister immediately before use as per the instructions supplied with the MDI. Insert the MDI canister into the canister port (C), being careful not to discharge the canister at this time. The integrated counter in GlaxoSmithKline† type MDI canister will be functional upon actuation.

Step 5

Following treatment, remove the MDI canister from the chamber. Disconnect the chamber from the endotracheal tube and from the wye. Reconnect the wye to the endotracheal tube. Store in a clean, dry place when not in use.

Cleaning

The device should not be cleaned. It can be replaced with the ventilator circuit. Refer to the instructions for use for additional information.
